19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent the Russian player won his maiden trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents his first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's defensive play style and regular emotional displays on court had led some to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved service.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional title, seized the initiative to create a final set.
Moutet defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
